Joe Mays gets one game suspension for hit on Matt Schaub
Joe Mays made highlight reels across the nation this past weekend for a hard hit on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. The helmet-to-helmet collision was powerful enough to pop the helmet off of Schaub’s head, causing a bloody injury to his earlobe in the process.
The NFL has seen to it that Mays won’t be able to deliver another hit like it this week, according to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora has more information on Mays’ appeal of the NFL’s decision – based mainly on the linebacker’s relatively clean background in the league.
Mays has been fined only once before, and will likely bring up the # of times James Harrison was fined before his suspension. Stay tuned—
