Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week reports NBC ProFootballTalk’s Josh Alper.
“Nicks has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week Two after he had 10 catches for a career-high 199 yard in the win. Nicks, who also scored a touchdown, helped Eli Manning set a career high with 510 passing yards and helped the Giants overcome a 14-point third quarter deficit with his productive Sunday.”
The last Giant to win the honor was Plaxico Burress in 2005. Nicks broke a bone in his right foot during practice in May. He had surgery during the offseason and says the foot felt fine after the Tampa Bay game.
