Fenway Park could host Notre Dame-UConn football in 2014

A Notre Dame-UConn football game could be played at Fenway Park in 2014 if the Boston Red Sox have their way.
The Boston Globe‘s Peter Abraham reports the Red Sox have begun talks with Notre Dame and UConn officials — and both schools are intrigued.
UConn’s regional appeal and Notre Dame’s national draw could make the first football game played at Fenway Park since 1968 a sellout success. The Fighting Irish have an opening in their 2014 schedule.
Fenway was home to high school, college and professional football games for decades before the Patriots ended their final season there in 1968.
The Red Sox have witnessed the success of recent college football games played at other venerable MLB parks Yankee Stadium and Wrigley Field.
