LeBron James’ new Nike shoes won’t break $300 mark

LeBron James’ new line of basketball shoes won’t be as expensive as predicted.
Speculation that Nike’s soon-to-be-released LeBron series sneakers would be priced at $300 or more was put to rest today when Nike revealed the high end of the “LeBron X” line would top out at $270.
The highest priced version will feature a Nike+ technology “Sports Kit” that allows users to measure and record performance categories such as quickness, hustle and vertical leap.
A standard model that does not feature “Nike+” technology, will retail for $180, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Ira Winderman reported:
Initial speculation of James’ impending release were price points up to $315, with ESPN and the Wall Street Journal quoting Nike on the actual price.
Nike plans to release the “LeBron X” line for retail on Sept. 22.

I am willing to bet that 90% of purchasers of these are on some form of public assistance. How stupid do you have to be to buy sneakers that cost $20 to make for $270?

LikeI wouldn't give you $70 for those bufugly kicks. But I'm sure there will be some kids getting jacked in the hood and half to walk home (hopefully that's the outcome rather than the other possibility) in their socks...
