There’s more bad news for Penn State.

In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal and subsequent departure of 11 players from the school’s football program, the Nittany Lions on Wednesday morning announced that starting wide receiver Shawney Kersey is leaving the team for “personal reasons.”

Kersey, a redshirt junior, is the twelfth player to leave the team following Sandusky’s guilty verdict. Kersey had 44 yards on six receptions in two games this season. Nine players transferred and Kersey is now the third player from the program to leave the team while remaining a student at the school.

Josh Moyer of ESPN.com reported that the news came as a surprise to several players on the team:

“It was definitely a surprise to me,” quarterback Matt McGloin said Wednesday. “We just have to focus on the people we have now.”

“I don’t really know too much about Shawney,” cornerback Stephon Morris said Wednesday. “All I know is the train can’t stop rolling. Right now we’re 0-2; we can’t really think about Shawney.”

Michael39's pantyhose are too tight.  They are cutting off circulation to his brain.

Personal reasons.  Could be anything.  My guess would be the sense of revulsion any human being would feel being in the Penn State showers.  The place needs to be torched and turned into something helping children or teaching people who will.
