Report: Canadiens have offered P.K. Subban a three-year deal; he wants five
TVA Sports in Canada is reporting that the agents for Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban and Habs general manager Marc Bergevin are working to get the 23-year-old blueliner signed to a contract before the collective bargaining agreement expires on Sept. 15.
The original report is in French, but Google Translate has an English approximation.
The sticking point is the length of the deal. TVA Sports reports that Montreal has offered Subban, a restricted free agent, a three-year, $12 million deal, while Subban supposedly is looking for a five-year contract.
