Georgia will be shorthanded going on the road for their SEC opener against Missouri. The Bulldogs will play without four defensive starters, reports ESPN.com.

The Bulldogs already were without suspended cornerback Sanders Commings and outside linebacker Chase Vasser, who are each serving two-game suspensions for offseason arrests. But UGA coach Mark Richt has been tight-lipped about the availability of Rambo and Ogletree for Saturday’s road contest, the first SEC game for the Tigers.

The Bulldogs will also play without All-American safety Bacarri Rambo, who failed a UGA-administered drug test after eating marijuana-laced brownies in the spring. Alec Ogletree, a linebacker, also failed a drug test for the second time, according to published reports.

Vasser was suspended after he was arrested for a DUI in May. Commings, a senior, was suspended after he was arrested in January on domestic violence charges.

A top-5 recruiting class is just not the same when you can't keep the athletes on the field ...or in the classroom ...or out of jail...

Dawgs run it right down Mizzou's throats.

To be fair, Sanders Commings was attacked on the street in downtown Athens by a drunken ex-girlfriend and did nothing but try to prevent her from hitting him. Ther were lots of witnesses, but Athens cops are notoriously gung-ho about hassling UGA athletes. I'm sure the same kind of thing happens in Tuscaloosa, right? Athens cops have been pulling this stuff for years, even decades, and it's well-known.

mjhellund Athletes get pampered all the time. If there was really nothing to it the charges would have been dropped long ago.

Don't run up the score, Mizzou, hah hah.  Kidding...but do think UGA loses this game.
