Brandon Meriweather out up to four weeks for Redskins
Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather will be sidelined for up to four weeks after Coach Mike Shanahan announced Wednesday that he sustained a sprained MCL and PCL at Monday’s practice, according to tweets from the team.
Shanahan said that DeJon Gomes could get the start in Merweather’s place. Tanard Johnson could’ve filled in but he was suspended in August for violating a league substance-abuse policy.
Meriweather signed a two-year contract with Washington in March for a reported $6 million.
