Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten still has not been cleared by doctors to practice after suffering a lacerated spleen and his availabilty for the season opener against the New York Giants is doubtful, reports ESPN.com.

According to reports, Witten met with medical specialists this week and is not expected to be re-evaluated until early next week. That puts the chances of him suiting up against the Giants as “not good.”

Witten injured his spleen in the Cowboys first preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. Witten has missed only one game in his nine-year career due to injury.
