Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone and Magic Johnson together under one roof again?

They are just a few of the presenters who have been chosen by this years class of inductees into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

The official list of presenters was announced Tuesday evening by the Hall, and posted to

The ceremony will take place September 7 in Springfield, Mass.

Jordan and longtime Georgetown head coach John Thompson will present Phil Knight, co-founder and chairman of Nike Inc.

Barkley and Johnson will join Cheryl Miller to present her brother, Reggie, while Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius Erving and Barkley will present Ralph Sampson.

It was also announced Tuesday that Bob Cousy will introduce the late Don Barksdale. Chris Mullen, Bob Lanier and Satch Sanders will present Don Nelson.

The Hall of Fame expects 50 of its members to be in attendance in September, either as participants or as guests.

Why are the presenters getting the headlines over the inductees?  Maybe because they just inducted a shoe salesman into a sports hall of fame...honestly, who clicked on this because they had no idea who was being inducted this year?

On and unrelated note, the Football Hall of Fame has just put the inventor of Gatorade on its upcoming ballot...
