Former Florida State and current Valdosta State senior cornerback Greg Reid tore his ACL in the team’s final preseason scrimmage, reports CBSSports.com. Reid will be out for the season.

Reid hurt his knee returning a punt in a non-contact drill last week.

Reid was dismissed by Florida State for a violation of team rules and joined the Valdosta State team on August 14. Reid has been arrested twice in the past year, including misdemeanor traffic violations and misdemeanor marijuana possession in July.

In addition to being a cornerback, Reid was a good punt returner and at the time he was dismissed from FSU, he needed 313 punt return yards to match the school record held by Deion Sanders.

It always amazes me how people who have never walked a mile in a 20 year old football players cleats can make all these value judgments about them.I'm sure you never made any poor decisions when you were a kid...Right ?

What he lacks is personal discipline! I really don't understand how he picked up a scholarship with is off the field behavior. The NCAA said it all, a lack of institutional control, the administration of VSU should not have admitted him.

Greg...everybody in Seminole Nation wishes you a speedy recovery....when coach Gran started looking for your replacement on special teams...he told all the various running backs that he needed someone with Greg Reid's courage ! We have plenty of fast people....and we have plenty with good hands....but I'm not sure we have anybody with Greg Reid's courage

@RoderickBrianCrews What Greg was missing is courage. He didn't have the courage to make the right decisions for his life.

@RandyPhelps  @RoderickBrianCrews So his decision to spend endless hours in the gym as a teenager, the decision to stay in school and earn a scholarship as a 5 star recruit... Those were cowardly decisions? You are a fool, an old fool living a sheltered, diluted life.
