The Green Bay Packers cut ties with defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove on Friday, reports Profootballtalk.com.

Hargrove who previously played for the Saints and is suspended for the first eight games of the 2012 season for his role in the Saints’ bounty program.

Hargrove has claimed his innocence in the bounty program and said he didn’t give any money to any player to injure quarterback Brett Favre in the 2010 NFC Championship game.

The NFL does allow a player that doesn’t have a team to serve out their suspension. After the eight weeks are over, Hargrove can sign with any team and start to play immediately.
