Dexter Fowler injury: Rockies CF leaves game after rolling right ankle





Colorado Rockies centerfielder Dexter Fowler left Wednesday’s game against the New York Mets in the top of the fourth inning after apparently severely turning his ankle at second base. Troy Renck of the Denver Post has details:

Fowler turned his right ankle on second base bag, very similar to a hoops player turning ankle, where it goes to ground. Was ugly.—

Right ankle is same one Fowler twisted in Miami in the dugout…Not sure if he was still taping it….This was worse—

After a leadoff single by Jonathan Herrera, Fowler singled to right and injured himself taking second on the throw to third. He was replaced by pinch-runner Jordan Pacheco, who stayed in the game to play first base, with Tyler Colvin going from first to center.
Fowler is hitting .306 with 12 home runs, 44 RBIs and a robust .891 OPS.
