Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson’s hopes to play in the preseason have been dashed.
Peterson will not play in the final two preseason games Friday against the San Diego Chargers and their final preseason game Aug. 30 at Houston, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier also confirmed that Peterson will not see any action in the preseason.
Peterson tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee last December.
Peterson was taken off the Physically Unable to Perform list on Aug. 12 and has worked out with the team in full pads.
“I wouldn’t mind getting in for a couple of series just to test it out and see how I do,” Peterson said last week. “Personally, to be honest with you, I feel like I’m fine and I’ll be good to go no matter what. But it would be good to get some game action.”
The Vikings open the 2012 campaign Sept. 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He will be a bust this year and re-injure himself because he plays before he should play.
that's total BS!! he's being sat out of preseason and he's being held from contact during practice, how the heck is he expected to come back after 8 months and get right into the swings of things?!? granted he's been in practice and drills with pads on, but he's still missing the physical aspect of the readiness!! he should be testing that before september comes around the corner....
For fantasy bad. For real life and his health, good.
What's more important?
His health.
This makes it really hard to know where to draft him in fantasy
