Oakland Raiders receiver/return man Jacoby Ford pulled up lame after making a catch midway through the first quarter of Friday’s exhibition game against the Arizona Cardinals, hobbling off the field with what has been reported as an ankle or a foot injury.
After a standout rookie season, Ford played in only eight games in 2012 because of both a strained hamstring and a sprained foot. If Friday’s injury is a recurrence of the latter, it obviously would not bode well for the Raiders.
Ford is listed as a backup to Denarius Moore on the Raiders’ official depth chart, but he figures to see a lot of time in three-receiver sets. He is also the team’s primary punt and kick returner.
