Report: Shabazz Muhammad ineligible for UCLA’s preseason trip to China
Tracy Pierson of Scout.com (subscription) reports that prized freshman wing Shabazz Muhammad will not travel to China with UCLA at the end of the month for the Bruins’ three preseason games there.
Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv has more details. Muhammad has been declared ineligible while the NCAA investigates possible improper benefits provided to Muhammad by a couple of family friends. “Since the investigation won’t be totally clear, they wanted to hold him out for China,” a source told Zagoria. “He has class. He’s not going to miss that for China.”
Late last month Muhammad told Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times that he expected to be cleared in time for the regular season, so this sounds like just a precautionary move by the Bruins.
Its just precautionary, don't even know why this is news.
