When the 76ers sent their franchise swing man Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets in a four-team trade that also sent the Los Angeles Lakers’ Andrew Bynum to Philadelphia, there was one big question: will Bynum re-sign longterm?

We likely won’t have anything definitive from Bynum until the end of next season, but Wednesday’s introductory press conference via ESPN did provide some insight into what he thinks he’ll do.

Speaking to the press, Bynum said he’s leaning towards re-signing long term with Philadelphia. When asked for his specific thoughts for signing an extension with the team, he said:

“I’m really leaning towards, ya know, making this my home.”

He said his first experience with the team has been great and he’s excited to play alongside a young core under head coach Doug Collins.

Bynum is set to become a free agent July 2013. As arguably the best center in the league after Dwight Howard, the man the Lakers traded for, Bynum will no doubt entertain a number of offers from teams on the market next summer.
