This hasn’t been the greatest day in Cleveland Browns history.

First, there are reports of running back Trent Richardson’s knee problems and now ESPN.com is reporting that cornerback Joe Haden failed a drug test and is subject to be suspended four games by the NFL.

The NFL is currently reviewing a failed drug test from Haden.

If Haden is suspended, it would cost him more than $1.356 million in salary.

Apparently, talk of Haden failing a drug test and facing a suspension is news to Haden’s advisors and the Browns.

Haden’s manager, Sean Cabble said, “I am unaware of any situation like that.”

Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis responded by saying, “Don’t know anything about that. Can’t confirm.”

And of course, a NFL spokesman said, “We have no comment.”

Haden, who will enter his 3rd season, had 65 tackles and one interception last season.

MarlonCole1 - How many people at YOUR place of employment use drugs? If yours is  like most places, a good many. Until most Drugs are made legal or people are absolutely blackballed for there use, NOTHING is going to change. I AGREE users should be band from whatever profession they are in NO MATER WHAT. I left 1 place where the plant manager came to work still drunk from the night before & was stoned on COKE by noon along with his manager. As long as production was met the owner didn't care, but let a worker show up that way & they were FIRED.

The NFL has become a league of steriod babies, convicts, and dope fiends.  They might as well start recruiting their players from the prison systems or start a prison system league.  People will come to see them play for less money and get greater enjoyment.

This sum up this situation.  Football players come a dime a dozen.  If you screw up with drugs then you should be banned from ever playing football again for the NFL.  This is the only way for these guys to learn.  Why waist millions on these guys when they go out and screw it up with drugs and breaking the law.  When they see that they cannot get paid playing the game anymore then they will quit violating the rules.  Someone will get the message.

I think the league is too aggressive with it's penalties, Goodell is a gimp and needs to go getting sick of all his stupid politically correct rules.

I don't know what is it with the Browns every=f--kin=year. My theory that some parasite waiting above the front doors to Berea infecting all that walk in. Infecting players with injuries and suspensions and infecting the coaches to make the most stupid coaching decisions to date. When i heard they hired Childress to be OC, but lame Shumer was still going to call the plays, I thought "why, oh yea it's the Browns they are not supposed to make any sense". Every year you have major key players going out. Phil Taylor (out for year), Fujita (suspended), Gocong (out for year), Haden (susp), Richardson (knee issue). Did I miss anyone? 3 of those men are 1st rounders. Remember the high profile center we picked up when Savage was GM? Out on the first play of camp. This organization is a sea of sorrow and I don't see why I care to know about them anymore. This season will be 5-11 and the Walrus and coaching staff will go, then master reset the team again to factory defaults. Team team is a total Joke. By the way Heckert makes lousy decisions in the off season.

Why bother to ban anymore? Kick them out of the league. If they can't abide by the rules, there are plenty who will and for a lot less money.

@GastricDistress I agree.  You have guys who are much better and can play better for less money.  These so-called super stars who are played millions come to camp late, abuse drugs, really can't play the game, and are not in condition to be durable enough to play the game.
