Jeff Otah trade rescinded: Jets won’t acquire injury-prone offensive lineman

Right tackle Jeff Otah will not play for the New York Jets after all, reports The New York Daily News‘ Manish Mehta on Twitter.
The Panthers agreed to send the often-injured Otah to the Jets, but the deal was conditioned on the offensive lineman passing his physical within seven days, which will not happen.
I've been told that the Jets will not be keeping OT Jeff Otah. #nyj

Both teams have now confirmed Mehta’s report.
When the Jets acquired Otah, there was hope he could give the team help at right tackle. Otah, a former first-round pick, has played well when healthy.
But he has battled knee injuries throughout his NFL career. He missed all of 2010 after knee surgery and again finished the season on injured reserve in 2011 because of knee problems.
