A passenger in a car Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh was driving when he got into a one-car accident is suing the defensive tackle for more than $1 million, reports the Detroit Free Press‘ Dave Birkett.

Saadia Van Winkle filed the lawsuit in Oregon on Thursday, alleging negligence, reckless driving and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The complaint stems from a December 3 accident when Suh crashed his car into a curb, light pole, drinking fountain and tree.

At the time, Suh said that everyone was fine, but Van Winkle, a friend of Suh’s then girlfriend, who was also in the car, later disputed Suh’s claims.

Van Winkle’s attorney said that her client had immediately received medical treatment, and that she had suffered suffered neck and back injuries in the crash. She also claims that Van Winkle received a laceration above her eye that required stitches.

Suh was not charged in the accident. Neither Suh nor his representatives had responded to requests for comment by the time Birkett’s story was published.
