Cowboys sign Morris Claiborne; Browns close to deal for Trent Richardson
The Dallas Cowboys reached a deal with cornerback Morris Claiborne, according to a story on the team’s website.
Dallas traded up to the No. 6 pick in the NFL Draft to take Claiborne out of LSU. The four-year deal is worth $16.4 million and includes a $10.3 million signing bonus.
NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal reports that Claiborne, who had missed workouts while recovering from surgery on his wrist, has been cleared to play. He is expected to compete for a starting spot.
Running back Trent Richardson, the No. 3 pick in the draft, is also reportedly close to an agreement with the Cleveland Browns.
The Plain Dealer‘s Mary Kay Cabot reported that Richardson is in Cleveland and prepared to sign with the team.
