Charlie Weis says Brady Quinn could have started for him in NFL
Charlie Weis and Brady Quinn will always be connected no matter where they end up. First, the two had a very successful run at Notre Dame and now both of them are trying to get their careers back on track.
Weis is the new head coach at the University of Kansas and Quinn is a backup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Let Weis tell it, Quinn could have started for him if he were an NFL coach.
“Brady could have been a starting quarterback for me in the NFL,” Weis told the Kansas City Star.
Quinn started just 12 games in three years in Cleveland after being drafted in the first round in 2007 and spent two years as a backup with the Denver Broncos.
“Go back and look at those numbers for the two years he played for me,” Weis said. “He was great. He wasn’t good. And I know if I had him as a quarterback, I would have felt very comfortable that I could have won no matter where we were.”
