Broncos’ Elvis Dumervil arrrested in Miami for aggravated assault with a firearm
Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil was arrested in Miami on Saturday night for aggravated assault with a firearm, according to CBS Denver.
His bond was set at $7,500. The Broncos issued a statement following his arrest, saying they are aware of the incident and are treating it very seriously:
“Our organization is aware of the matter and is continuing to gather the facts. This is a very serious allegation, and we will thoroughly review the details while the legal process runs its course.”
He led the National Football League in sacks in 2009 but shortly after signing a six-year, $61.5 million contract extension with the Bronocs, Dmervil suffered a torn pectoral muscle and missed the entire 2010 season.
According to the report from CBS Denver, Miami police have remained mum on the details of his arrest.
