The 30-year-old Diaw was bought out by the Charlotte Bobcats during last season and, after clearing waivers, signed with San Antonio. He started seven of his 20 regular season games with the Spurs and averaged 4.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Diaw also started all 14 of San Antonio’s playoff games.
The Spurs finished with a league-best 50-16 record and have started to bring back many of their key role players. SI.com’s Sam Amick reported Monday that the team reached an agreement with forward Danny Green on a three-year, $12 million contract.
