Report: Brodeur re-signs with Devils for two years, $9 million

New Jersey Devils fans can start the week with the good news they were hoping for all weekend.
According to Canada’s RDS reporter Renaud Lavoie, future Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur has re-signed with the Devils, the only NHL team for which he has ever played.
Martin Brodeur is staying with the Devils. 2 years / 9 millions. Great news for the Devils fans and that franchise.

Last week it was reported that Brodeur would likely test the free-agent market, but the Devils seemed intent on keeping one of the franchise’s biggest stars. At 40 years old, Brodeur’s two-year deal will help him push the all-time wins and shutouts records further from reach.
Next on the docket for the Devils is re-signing captain Zach Parise. He’s coming off a one-year deal worth $6 million, and a report states that offers for Parise have ranged from $80 million to upward of $100 million for 13 years.
