RGIII says it sucks watching U.S. Olympic trials
Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III is an amazing athlete who can throw, read defenses, and jump hurdles.
Even though he is preparing for the grinds of an NFL season, Griffin says a part of him wishes he were preparing for the Olympic Games in London. Griffin ran track for Baylor University and won the Big 12 Championship at the 400-meter hurdles before turning his full attention on football.
“And it does suck. I mean, that’s the only way to say it. It sucks,” Griffin told NFL.com. But I’m definitely fortunate to be in the situation that I am, being in the NFL, being a franchise quarterback for a team with the opportunity to go out and do an infinite amount of things.”
According to the report, Griffin beat four athletes in the 2008 NCAA championships who are currently at the U.S. Olympic Trials trying to win a spot on the team in 400 meter hurdles.
“If I wake up one day and it’s 2016 and I say I want to go run the hurdles again,” Griffin said. “I can do that.”
