Report: Blazers pick Tyshawn Taylor headed to Nets for cash considerations

Because of their acquisition of forward Gerald Wallace back in March, the now Brooklyn Nets entered Thursday’s draft with just the 57th pick. But Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Nets have acquired the 41st pick from the Portland Trail Blazers, who used it to select Kansas guard Tyshawn Taylor.
Portland will trade the 41st pick, Tyshawn Taylor, to the Brooklyn Nets, league source tells Y! Sports.—

Like the Pacers-Kings trade at 36, this apparently is an all-cash deal:
Brooklyn is sending cash to Portland for Tyshawn Taylor, out of Kansas and St. Anthony of Jersey City.—

As Wojnarowski points out, Taylor is a Hoboken, N.J., native who attended famed St. Anthony high school in Jersey City, so Nets scouts may have been aware of him for a while.
