One of Major League’s Baseball’s top pitchers could be on the market before long. FOX Sports reports that the Milwaukee Brewers intend to trade starting pitcher Zack Greinke if they can’t agree to a long-term deal with the former Cy Young award winner.

Greinke’s current contract — signed when he was still a member of the Kansas City Royals — expires at the end of this year, and negotiations on a long-term extension have stalled. Greinke has had a good season thus far in 2012 — he owns an 8-2 records with a 2.81 ERA — but the Brewers haven’t been quite as successful as a whole. The club currently stands fourth in the NL Central, 7.5 games back from the division-leading Cincinnati Reds.
