Report: Celtics get 2nd round pick from Thunder in Jeff Green medical dispute
The Boston Celtics will receive a second-round draft pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder as compensation in a dispute over the medical condition of forward Jeff Green, reports Yahoo! Sports writer Adrian Wojnarowski.
Boston acquired Green in last season’s trade that sent center Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City. Green missed all of the 2011-12 season after he needed surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm uncovered in a physical last December.

Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) June 26, 2012Green had successful surgery on Jan. 12 and is now “100 percent,” his agent, David Falk, told SI.com’s Sam Amick earlier this month. The Celtics withdrew their qualifying offer to Green in December, making the forward a free agent. Falk told Amick that at least a dozen teams have expressed interest in Green.
Green could re-sign with the Celtics, but he now has other options.
Perkins became a starter for the Thunder as they reached last season’s Western Conference Finals and this season’s NBA Finals.
