The Miami Heat may only be a day removed from winning the NBA championship, but the front office has already set to work identifying free agents to bolster their title defense. According to a report from Alex Kennedy at HoopsWorld, the Heat have interest in Hornets power forward Chris Kaman, Suns point guard Steve Nash, Suns forward Grant Hill, Nuggets guard Andre Miller, and Celtics duo guard Ray Allen, and forward Jermaine O’Neal.

If those names sound veteran-laden to you, it’s by design. Kennedy reports that the Heat are focusing on veterans of the league that are willing to trade a smaller paycheck for the chance to contend for an NBA title.
