Under Armour to sell ‘clown question’ T-shirts
Washington Nationals rookie outfielder Bryce Harper is not only making waves with his talent, now he may be starting a fashion trend as well.
Harper now-infamously responded, “That’s a clown question, bro” when a Canadian reporter asked him what his favorite beer is after a Nationals-Toronto Blue Jays game. Of course, the reporter failed to realize that Harper is a Mormon, a religion that prohibits drinking alcohol.
Now he is taking full advantage of the exposure. Under Armour, a Baltimore-based apparel company, will start selling T-shirts featuring the “That’s a clown question, bro” phrase, according to The Baltimore Sun.
According to a recent United States trademark filing, Harper applied for the word mark, “THAT’S A CLOWN QUESTION, BRO” assigned to “wearing apparel, namely, shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pants, shorts, hats, visors, gloves, shoes.”
