New York Giants waive tight end Jake Ballard [UPDATE]
UPDATE: New York Giants tight end Jake Ballard took to Twitter to clarify the news that the team had waived him after he failed his physical. The tight end is expected to miss much or all of the 2012 season after tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl last season.
Thanks for love everyone but don't worry, its a business, I'm on the road to recovery, and I believe I'll be in a Giants uniform in '13—

As long as he clears waivers, which some media members have called likely because of his injury, he will be able to re-sign with New York.
Ballard tore his ACL in the third quarter of last season’s Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots. Last season, his second in the league, Ballard made 13 starts and had 38 catches for 604 yards.
