Kevin Durant’s movie trailer, Thunderstruck, debuts on NBAtv
Kevin Durant announced last year that he will be starring in a movie about a high-school basketball player who suddenly switches skills with the Oklahoma City All-Star forward, and the trailer to the movie debuted on NBAtv Wednesday night.
According to a synopsis of the movie obtained from Michael Smith of the Tulsa World:
“When Brian, a hopelessly uncoordinated young fan, magically switches talents with his hero, Kevin Durant, he becomes the star of his high school team … while Kevin Durant suddenly can’t make a shot to save his life.
“But with the playoffs approaching, Brian learns that being a true winner involves working hard at your own game, and he tries to make things right in time to prevent a catastrophic end to his hero’s season.”
According to Smith, Durant isn’t sure how he’ll be perceived by fans and general movie-goers once the film is released in 2012:
The movie is fiction, Durant told the Tulsa World at the time about his character, “but man, I become really, really bad, and it’s looking pretty easy to make me look bad, the way that they’re shooting the movie,” he said with a laugh.
