Report: Angels’ Jered Weaver expected to return from DL as soon as eligible

Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times tweets that Los Angeles Angels ace Jered Weaver is on track to return from the 15-day disabled list as soon as he is eligible to be activated, on June 12.
Looking more like #Angels RH Jered Weaver (lower-back strain) will only be out 15 days. Extended long-toss to 300 feet today. Off mound soon—

Three hundred feet is the greatest distance that pitchers usually long-toss, so if Weaver is already there with nearly a week more to rehab, his prognosis certainly looks good.
Weaver was placed on the DL on May 29 after straining his lower back 12 pitches into his start against the New York Yankees. He is 6-1 with a 2.61 ERA this season, including a no-hitter on May 2.
