Jim Thome, first baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies, was activated off the disabled list on Wednesday after missing 36 games because of a lower back strain, according to a tweet from Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com.
He experienced stiffness in his back on April 28 in a game against the Chicago Cubs and left the game early. A few days later, he was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
On the season, Thome, 41, is hitting .111/.238/.111 in his 21 appearances. He is currently signed to a one-year contract with the team worth $1.25 million.
