The Orlando Magic are still considering five people for their general manager position, according a column by David Aldridge on NBA.com.
The five remaining contenders, according to Aldridge, are: former Portland Trail Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard, San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey, Oklahoma City Thunder assistant GM Troy Weaver, Thunder assistant GM and head of player personnel Rob Hennigan and former New Orleans Hornets GM Jeff Bower.
One report said the team expected to name its new GM by the end of last week (via Pro Basketball Talk). That didn’t happen, but the team is expected to choose someone soon.
Aldridge also reported that former Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks executive Donnie Walsh withdrew his name from consideration for the Magic job.
The Magic’s new GM will reportedly make the decision on whether or not to trade Dwight Howard, meaning the person picked could control much of how the offseason plays out in the NBA.
