Report: Dominik Hasek, six-time Vezina Trophy winner, looking to return to NHL at 47
Dominik Hasek, a six-time winner of the Vezina Trophy, wants to make a comeback at age 47, according to reports that originated on a Czech sports website.
CBC “Hockey Night in Canada” reporter and analyst Elliotte Friedman acknowledged the reports in a series of tweets this morning.

Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) May 25, 2012Hasek last played in the NHL in the 2007-08 season with the Detroit Red Wings at age 43. He won 27 of his 41 starts and posted a 2.14 goals against average. The Red Wings won the Stanley Cup that season to give Hasek his second title.
Hasek has retired from the NHL twice. The first came after winning his first Cup title in 2002 with the Red Wings. But a year later, he returned, signing again with Detroit. After the Red Wings’ 2008 title, Hasek again retired. But five months later, he signed to play in Europe. He played with various teams there through the 2010-11 season.
Dwayne Roloson, at age 42, was the oldest player in the NHL this season.
