Report: Cubs’ Geovany Soto Has Slight Tear In Meniscus





Chicago Cubs catcher Geovany Soto has a slight tear in his meniscus and will go on the disabled list, according to Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune.

Soto has hit just .161/.250/.301 this season in 28 games for Chicago. The 29-year-old is coming off of a disappointing 2011 where he hit just .228/.310/.411 with 17 home runs in 125 games.
In 2008, Soto won the National League Rookie of the Year after hitting .285/.364/.504 with 23 home runs and 86 RBI. Since then he has had just one season in which he has hit above .228.
