Washington Nationals closer Drew Storen told MLB.com that he expects to be back by the All-Star break.
“[The arm] feels different, but it’s where it should be,” Storen said. “It’s going to take time to get back.”
Storen threw 100 times on flat ground yesterday in an effort to build up toward throwing off the mound. The 24-year-old hurler underwent surgery in early April to clear out loose bodies in his elbow.
Last year Storen collected 43 saves while posting a 2.75 ERA. The Nationals bullpen has blown six saves this season in his absence, Storen blew just five saves last year.
