Philadelphia Phillies Place Vance Worley On DL

The Philadelphia Phillies have placed starting pitcher Vance Worley on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

Vance Worley has been placed on the DL with right elbow inflammation. Joe Savery has been recalled. Kyle Kendrick starts tonight @ CHI.

Worley, 24, has gone 3-2 with a 3.07 ERA this season in seven starts for the Phillies. In his last two games, however, the right-hander has allowed eight earned runs and 17 hits in 12 innings pitched.

Last year, Worley went 11-3 in 25 appearances for Philadelphia, posting a 3.01 ERA. The Phillies are currently 18-19, which leaves them in last place in the National League East.
