Report: Texans Sign Former Dolphins, Redskins QB John Beck
After being released two weeks ago by the Washington Redskins, quarterback John Beck has found a new job — Beck has agreed to a contract with the Houston Texans, according to Jay Drew of the Salt Lake Tribune.
Beck was released by the Redskins on draft night — the Skins selected Baylor’s Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft before surprisingly adding Kirk Cousins from Michigan State as well, in round four.
In Houston, Beck is unlikely to see much time under center — Matt Schaub is the incumbent QB, and Beck will have to compete for the backup role with T.J. Yates.
Beck was the Miami Dolphins’ second-round pick in the 2007 draft. He completed 80 of 132 passes for the Redskins last year for four interceptions and two touchdowns.
