Jones, the Texans’ third-round pick in the 2007 draft, was used primarily as a kick and punt returner during his five years in Houston. Of his 5,091 career all-purpose yards, 1,820 have come from returning punts, and 1,490 from kicks; he also has four career return touchdowns.
Jones, an alum of Div. II Lane College, turns 28 in July. It’s unclear what role he’ll play on the Ravens, who are already well stocked with receivers including Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta.
