Pettitte, 39, decided late this spring that he wanted to make a comeback after a one-year retirement. He is currently ramping up for the season in the Yankees’ minor league system.
In 2010, Pettitte posted an 11-3 record with a 3.28 ERA in 21 starts. The three-time All-Star’s return will help a struggling Yankees rotation which just had to send Michael Pineda to the disabled list for the rest of the season.
