Report: Yankees Closer Mariano Rivera Suffers Knee Injury During Batting Practice





New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera suffered a right knee injury in Kasnas City tonight during batting practice, according to MLB.com. He had to be carted off the field.

Rivera, who routinely shags fly balls in center field and hopes to play the position in a game once before he retires, was injured just after 7 p.m. Manager Joe Girardi was among the Yankee contingent watching him propped onto the back of a flatbed truck and carried off the field.
No further information is yet available about Rivera’s injury.
