The Chicago Bears have signed former South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, a second round draft pick, to a four-year deal, according to ESPN’S Adam Schefter.

Jeffery set a Gamecocks record with 3,042 career receiving yards. A year ago, he was projected to be a first-round pick; however, the wide receiver’s sub par numbers in 2011 hurt his draft stock this year.
At 6-3, 216 pounds, Jeffery will give quarterback Jay Cutler another solid throwing target along with recently acquired Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
