Washington Nationals mega-prospect Bryce Harper is set to make his home debut tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but he got his real first taste of playing ball in D.C. yesterday when he took his talents to the National Mall to play some softball.

According to the Washington Post, Harper happened to walk by a local league game between the World Wildlife Foundation and the Alliance to Save Energy. He approached the players and asked them if they needed a pinch hitter.
