Ottawa Senators Milan Michalek may face a two game suspension for allegedly kicking New York Rangers Dan Girardi with his skate Monday night, according to a tweet from Darren Dreger, TSN’s Hockey Insider.

The NHL is set to review the play and could potentially punish Michalek with a two game suspension similar to what Jeff Skinner of the Carolina Hurricanes received for a similar infraction earlier this year. The suspension will ride on whether or not the league deems that Michalek did kick Girardi.
Although Michalek has not had a strong series, his absence would cause some problems for the Senators in Game 7. He has had a significant impact on the team this season scoring 35 goals and 25 assists, so he does have the potential to be a difference maker for the club.
The Rangers are 3-5 all-time in Game 7’s, but are 3-0 as a franchise in Game 7’s at Madison Square Garden.
