Knicks’ Jeremy Lin Jogging Again, Recovering From Torn Meniscus

NBA

Jeremy Lin took to Twitter today, congratulating his New York Knicks teammates on a hard-fought 113-112 road win over the Atlanta Hawks — and he also snuck in a minor detail about himself. He’s jogging again.

Lin underwent surgery on April 2 to repair the partially torn meniscus in his left knee. He hasn’t played since March 24; it’s projected that he won’t be ready for a return until mid-May. The Knicks would likely need to advance past the first round of the playoffs for Lin to play this season.

Lin played 35 games for the Knicks this season; he averaged 14.6 points, 6.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds per contest. He was the team’s full-time starter at point guard between Feb. 6 and the moment he went down.

The Knicks have two games left in the regular season, Wednesday and Thursday against the L.A. Clippers and Charlotte Bobcats respectively, before the postseason opens next weekend. They’re likely to lock up the No. 7 seed and face the No. 2 Miami Heat in the first round of the East playoffs.
