Rafa Marquez Suspended For Three Games
The MLS has suspended and fined New York Red Bulls midfielder, Rafa Marquez for three games due to a reckless play that injured San Jose Earthquakes midfielder, Shea Salinas, according to a tweet from Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl.

Marquez tackled Salinas in the penalty area and kicked him after the two men tumbled on the ground, the play ended up shattering Salinas’s collarbone into four pieces.
Salinas had surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be out six to eight weeks.
Marquez signed a three and a half year deal with the Red Bulls in 2010. This season he has played in four games and contributed one assist. During his career in the MLS he has played in 33 games scoring one goal and tallying seven assists.
