Report: UNC Point Guard Kendall Marshall Signs With Agent, Bound For NBA Draft
It was already assumed that UNC point guard Kendall Marshall would be forgoing his final two seasons in Chapel Hill to enter the NBA draft, but now it’s official. Marshall signed this week with Octagon, a global sports and entertainment agency based in McLean, Va., according to Chapelboro.com.
Marshall led the Tar Heels this season with 9.8 assists per game and won the Cousy Award, given annually to the nation’s best point guard. He led the Heels to a 32-6 overall record; they were eliminated in the regional final of the NCAA Tournament by the Kansas Jayhawks.
Marshall is far from the only UNC star walking away — sophomore Harrison Barnes and junior John Henson are both rumored to be leaving school early to enter the June 25 draft.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Marshall is projected to be a late lottery pick.
